Bikkuri Shower at Bihoku Hillside National Park (Great Lawn Plaza)

About this spot

The Bikkuri Shower at Bihoku Hillside National Park (Great Lawn Plaza) is a shower fountain in front of the large play structure Kyu no Oka that sends water shooting up when you press a button. Because children press it themselves and get sprayed themselves, even those who are afraid of water can keep their distance and get used to it little by little. There is no depth as there would be in a pool, and it adjoins the lawn plaza, so children who tire out can go straight back to their sheet for a rest, which is reassuring. Use is free, and all you need is the park admission fee (free for junior high school students and younger). Cheers go up every time the water shoots skyward, making this the signature summer attraction of Bihoku Hillside National Park.

Tips

The 2026 operating period has not been announced. Check the official website for the operating status before you set out. Use is free, but park admission is charged separately (free for junior high school students and younger; check the amount on the official website). In case there is no dedicated changing room nearby, wearing swimwear under clothes makes changing easier. Wet grass and paths are slippery, so remind children not to run. Bringing a few more towels and changes of clothes than the number of people is reassuring.

Best time to visit

Best in the afternoon after some time on the play structure. Around 4 p.m., as the sun drops, the water feels especially good.
