This is a science museum for children in the Central Park area beside Hiroshima Castle (広島城). ひろしまゲートパークミスト噴水は、旧広島市民球場跡地に生まれた「ひろしまゲートパーク」にある水遊びスポットです。シンボルである大屋根ひろばの前で、定期的にミストが噴き出す仕掛けになっていて、街の真ん中にいながら霧に包まれる不思議な体験ができます。プールのような深さがないため、歩き始めたばかりの子でも一緒に遊べ、水がこわい子は外側から少しずつ慣れていけます。起伏を利用した遊び場も併設されているので、水と遊具を行き来しながら長い時間を過ごせるのがこの公園の楽しみ方。紙屋町・八丁堀の中心部という立地で、路面電車やバスで気軽に来られるのも大きな利点です。利用は無料で、思い立った日にふらりと立ち寄れます。
