Mominoki Forest Park has a cycling course laid out through the forest. Running between the trees, the course is shielded from direct sunlight, so you feel a cool breeze the whole way. Riding side by side as a family on a road with no cars is an experience unique to this park. Working up a sweat before the water play makes the cold mountain water feel even better. The trick is to turn back at a comfortable distance and save some energy.

広島県立もみのき森林公園 流れの遊び場は、浅瀬の池に冷たい山水が流れ込む水遊び場です。高原を流れてきた水はとても冷たく、足を入れた瞬間に「つめたい!」と声が出るほど。真夏の暑さがすっと引いていく感覚は、この場所でしか味わえないものです。水深が浅いので、水がこわい小さな子でも自分のペースで少しずつ慣れていけます。まわりに木陰が多く、遊び疲れたらすぐに日差しを避けて休めるのも安心なところ。入園は無料で、水遊びにもお金はかかりません。

2026年の開設期間は未発表です。出発前に公式サイトで開設状況を確認してください。山水はとても冷たいので、長く入りすぎないよう休憩をはさみましょう。唇の色が変わったら上がる合図です。池の底には石があるため、脱げにくいサンダルかマリンシューズを用意してください。着替えの場所が限られるので、水着を服の下に着ていくとスムーズです。高原は夕方から急に冷えるので、羽織るものとタオルを多めに持っていくと安心です。
Tips
Check whether rental bicycles are available, along with fees and hire times, on the official website or at the park reception. If you bring your own bicycle, do not forget helmets. The highland course has ups and downs, so keep the plan manageable for small children, for example by riding only a short section. Carry drinks and take frequent breaks.
