This is the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park (Moricoro Park) Children's Plaza Water Area, a free splash pond in the Children's Plaza of Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park (愛・地球博記念公園), known as Moricoro Park, in Nagakute City. In 2026 it reopens on Wednesday, July 29 after renovation work and can be used from 9:00 to 17:00 until Monday, November 30. Note that the fountains operate from March through November, with hours of 9:00 to 17:00 in summer (July 15 to August 31) and 9:00 to 16:00 at other times. Because it is integrated with nature-experience play equipment themed on forest, water and wind, children who tire of the water can move to the tree or wind equipment and back again, keeping on playing at their own pace. Next door are the Aichi Prefectural Children's Center and a giant Ferris wheel, so it is easy to rearrange how you spend the day to match the family's energy. Since it is free, you can also use it for a short stop in the evening.
Tips
It is closed on Tuesdays, but open during the summer holidays. Parking is 500 yen for a standard car, or 1,000 yen in peak periods, and free within 1 hour 30 minutes of entry. The water may be stopped due to weather or equipment inspections, so check the official website for that day's operation before you set out. After water play, rinse off well at the tap, and taking breaks in the shade while you play helps prevent heatstroke. Please prepare swim diapers for children who are not yet out of nappies.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours 30 minutes. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is recommended, and counting back from the 17:00 closing time to leave time for packing up is reassuring
