Koromo Castle Ruins / Shichishu Castle Ruins (挙母城跡(七州城跡))
About this spot
This is the corner turret of Shichishu Castle (七州城), remaining in a corner of the rise where the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art (豊田市美術館) stands. This land is where the castle of the Koromo Domain (挙母藩) once stood, and the stone walls and the restored turret still convey traces of those days. The pairing of castle remains right beside the museum's contemporary building makes you feel the layers of time in this place. The site is small, so stopping by after seeing the museum for a short walk is just the right way to spend time here. Simply telling children that a castle once stood here suddenly makes the stone walls in front of them look interesting.
Tips
Whether the interior is open varies by season, so please follow the on-site information signs. Tell children beforehand not to climb on the stone walls. Some areas have little shade, so do not forget a hat and drinks. You can walk here directly from the museum parking lot.
Best time to visit
