Himonya Hachimangu Shrine (碑文谷八幡宮)

About this spot

This shrine has long been cherished as the guardian shrine of Himonya. Trees line both sides of the approach, and once you step into the precincts the sound of traffic fades away and the air feels cool even in summer. It is also known for preserving the inscribed stone said to be the origin of the place name Himonya. The grounds are not too large, so families with children can enjoy a pleasant visit in a short time. Enyuji Temple and Himonya Park are both within walking distance, making this a convenient starting point for the day.

清水池公園じゃぶじゃぶ池・流れは、目黒区の清水池公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年の稼働期間は7/1(水)から9/30(水)まで、時間は9:00〜16:30で、区の公式表記は「7月第1週から9月末頃まで」となっています。同じ園内には区内では珍しく釣りのできる池があり、水遊びの合間に竿を出す人の様子を眺められるのがこの公園ならではの光景です。水は塩素等で消毒管理され、水深は浅く造られているので、歩きはじめの小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩けます。周囲は木立に囲まれていて、遊び疲れたらすぐ日陰で休めるのも助かるところです。料金は無料で、地域の夏の定番の遊び場になっています。

Tips

月1回ほど点検日があり、その日は利用できません。点検日時は現地に掲示されるので、出発前に区の公式ページで開設状況を確認してください。飲食物の持込とペットの入水はできません。水遊び用サンダルの着用が推奨されているので、かかとの留まるタイプを用意しましょう。釣りの池は水遊び場とは別なので、子どもが柵から身を乗り出さないよう気をつけてください。

Tips

Parts of the approach are gravel or stone paving, so push strollers slowly. Staffed hours at the shrine office vary by day, so check in advance if you would like a goshuin seal. Vending machines in the precincts are limited, so bringing your own drinks is safer. Teaching children the etiquette at the purification basin turns the visit itself into an experience.
