Enyuji Temple (円融寺)

About this spot

An old Tendai-sect temple in Himonya. Its Shakado Hall (釈迦堂) is said to be the oldest wooden building in the wards of Tokyo and is designated a national Important Cultural Property. Its form is plain and unadorned, yet standing before it you feel a solid, powerful presence. The approach passes through a vermilion Nio Gate (仁王門), where guardian statues glare from either side. The precincts are surrounded by trees and offer plenty of shade, which is welcome on a midsummer stroll. It is only a short walk from both Himonya Hachimangu Shrine and Himonya Park.

清水池公園じゃぶじゃぶ池・流れは、目黒区の清水池公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年の稼働期間は7/1(水)から9/30(水)まで、時間は9:00〜16:30で、区の公式表記は「7月第1週から9月末頃まで」となっています。同じ園内には区内では珍しく釣りのできる池があり、水遊びの合間に竿を出す人の様子を眺められるのがこの公園ならではの光景です。水は塩素等で消毒管理され、水深は浅く造られているので、歩きはじめの小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩けます。周囲は木立に囲まれていて、遊び疲れたらすぐ日陰で休めるのも助かるところです。料金は無料で、地域の夏の定番の遊び場になっています。

Tips

月1回ほど点検日があり、その日は利用できません。点検日時は現地に掲示されるので、出発前に区の公式ページで開設状況を確認してください。飲食物の持込とペットの入水はできません。水遊び用サンダルの着用が推奨されているので、かかとの留まるタイプを用意しましょう。釣りの池は水遊び場とは別なので、子どもが柵から身を乗り出さないよう気をつけてください。

Tips

The precincts are a place of prayer, so tell children in advance not to run or raise their voices. Whether the hall interior can be viewed, and at what times, varies by day, so follow the notices posted on site. Parts of the approach are gravel and can be hard going with a stroller. There is plenty of shade, making it a relatively comfortable stop even on hot days.
