The Shimizuike Park Splash Pond and Stream is a free water-play area in Shimizuike Park, Meguro Ward. In 2026 it operates from Wednesday 1 July to Wednesday 30 September, 9:00-16:30; the ward's official wording is from the first week of July to around the end of September. The same park has a pond where fishing is allowed, which is rare within the ward, and watching anglers cast their rods between splashes is a scene unique to this park. The water is disinfected with chlorine and similar treatment, and it is built shallow, so even little ones who have just started walking can move about on their own feet. Trees surround the area, so you can rest in the shade as soon as you tire, which is a real help. It is free of charge and has become a summer staple play spot for the neighbourhood.

Tips

There is an inspection day roughly once a month, when the area cannot be used. The inspection dates and times are posted on site, so check the ward's official page for the opening status before you set out. Food and drink may not be brought in and pets may not enter the water. Water-play sandals are recommended, so prepare a pair with a heel strap. The fishing pond is separate from the water-play area, so take care that children do not lean out over the fence.
