Mt. Hakoneyama (箱根山)

About this spot

An artificial hill 44.6 m high in the Hakoneyama area of Toyama Park. It is the surviving garden mound from the Owari Tokugawa family villa and is known as the highest point inside the Yamanote Line loop. The summit is only a few minutes of steps and slopes away, but the path enclosed by trees really does feel like a mountain, so children can enjoy a genuine sense of climbing. At the top there is a triangulation point and a marker, making it a classic spot for a commemorative photo. The splash pond sits at the foot of this hill, so you can head straight into the water after your ascent.

戸山公園じゃぶじゃぶ池（箱根山地区）は、新宿区の戸山公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年のシーズンは7/1(水)〜9/30(水)、時間は10:30〜15:30です。すべり台のついた浅い池になっているので、水に入るだけでなく滑って遊べるのが子どもには大きな魅力になっています。箱根山のふもとにあり、まわりを木立が囲んでいるため日陰を確保しやすいのも助かるところ。料金は無料で、園内にはトイレもあります。テントの設営はできないので、日よけはレジャーシートと木陰で工夫してください。

Tips

清掃点検の休止は8/5(水)・9/3(木)です。天候や気温によって他の日も休止になることがあるので、出発前に開設状況を確認してください。テントの設営はできません。すべり台は順番を守る約束を先にしておくと安心です。更衣室の案内はないため、水着を下に着ていくかタオルポンチョを持参しましょう。

Tips

The service centre sometimes displays information about summit certificates, so drop by if you are interested. The steps can be slippery after rain, so watch your footing. There are many mosquitoes among the trees, so insect repellent makes the visit more comfortable. You will work up a sweat on the climb, so rehydrate before going into the water.
