Ebisu Higashi Park Water Play Facility
About this spot
The Ebisu Higashi Park Water Play Facility is a free water play area in Ebisu Higashi Park (恵比寿東公園) in Shibuya Ward. In 2026 it is open from Wednesday 1 July to Thursday 24 September, from 9:00 to 17:00. The park is affectionately known as Octopus Park after its large octopus-shaped play sculpture, and alongside the water area it has swings, a sandpit, horizontal bars and a lawn. Being able to switch activities, climbing the octopus or lying on the grass once you are out of the water, is this park's strength. It is within walking distance of Ebisu Station (恵比寿駅), so you can get here by train alone, a convenience typical of central Tokyo. Admission is free, and it is a place where local families gather day to day.
Season & hours
Name: 恵比寿東公園 親水施設(水遊び場)
Date & time: 7/1 (Wed)–9/24 (Thu) 09:00–17:00 ※清掃日(毎週水曜日 午前)は利用不可 ※気象状況により変更あり
Venue: 渋谷区・恵比寿東公園
Tips
It cannot be used on Wednesday mornings, the weekly cleaning day. Opening may also change with the weather, so check the situation on the official Shibuya Ward page before setting out. Food and drink may not be brought in, and pets may not enter the water. Changing space is limited, so wearing swimwear underneath your clothes shortens preparation on site. The octopus structure can get hot in the sun, so feel the surface with your hand before letting children climb.
Best time to visit
Arriving at 15:00 gives you two hours of play until closing at 17:00, in the gentler light of late afternoon
