This old shrine stands facing National Route 15 (Daiichi Keihin), and its name is recorded in documents dating back to the Heian period. It has the storied history of being counted among the Shikinaisha, and was also a shrine where travelers on the former Tokaido road would stop by. Its grounds carry a legend concerning a well called Iwai no Ido, letting you start the day with a story tied to water. Its scale isn't overly large, making it a comfortable size to visit even with children in a short time. It's within walking distance of Heiwa no Mori Park.
Tips
There's a busy road right in front of the grounds, so keep hold of children's hands near the torii gate. The shrine office's hours vary by day, so check in advance if you'd like a goshuin (shrine stamp) or similar. Whether you can enter the area around the well is posted on-site, so follow the instructions. Shade is limited to under the trees, so a hat is reassuring to have.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. The morning, when there are fewer people, offers a quiet and pleasant visit.
