Heiwa no Mori Park (平和の森公園)

Flow of the course

About this spot

This is a large park in Ota City, and among its features, the field athletics course is especially popular with kids. Obstacles line up for crossing logs, climbing ropes, and making your way over water, and kids lose track of time as they take on one challenge after another. There's also a lawn plaza and a Japanese-garden-style section, so once you're tired from playing, you can rest in the shade and spread out a bento. The grounds are spacious with plenty of shade under the trees, which is a real help even in midsummer. It's within walking distance of Omori Miwa Park.

Tips

The field athletics course has a set usage fee, age range, and operating hours. Check the Ota City official website in advance. The obstacles crossing over water can lead to falling in, so having a change of clothes ready is reassuring. It's also important to wear shoes you can move around in and to tie back long hair. Taking your trash home with you is standard practice, so bring a bag.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 50 minutes. Getting active during the morning and having lunch in the shade makes the afternoon easier.
