Saitama Prefectural Wako Jurin Park (埼玉県営和光樹林公園)

Flow of the course

About this spot

This prefecture-run park spreads out with continuous ground on the north side of Oizumi Chuo Park, and administratively falls within Wako City, Saitama Prefecture. Since both parks share the same origin as former U.S. Army camp sites, they aren't divided by a fence, and as you walk you'll barely notice crossing the prefectural border. The grounds consist of tall-tree woods and wide grassland, and even in summer, a breeze passes through the shade. There's also a plaza with play equipment, making it a good place to get active before water play. Many people come here to walk or jog, and it's also a park where you can see local daily life.

Tips

The address is in Wako City, Saitama Prefecture, but you can walk in from Oizumi Chuo Park. Mosquitoes appear in the woods, so bring insect repellent. Even with plenty of shade, it's hot in midsummer, so hydrate frequently. Walking around too much will leave less energy for the afternoon's water play, so wrapping up after about 45 minutes is a good balance.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The morning, with continuous shade, is an easy time to walk around.
