Miyoshi Water Play Plaza (美好水遊び広場) in Fuchu City is a municipally run water play area with a stream 0-25cm deep and 5-6.3m wide. In 2026 it operates from July 18 (Sat) through August 30 (Sun), open 10:00-17:30, with a three-session shift system requiring advance reservation: Session 1 (10:00-12:00), Session 2 (13:00-15:00), and Session 3 (15:30-17:30). Features such as jumping showers and a spectacle-shaped bridge (Megane-bashi) let even small children who can't swim play at their own pace, which is its charm. Foot-washing basins and coin lockers (10 yen per use) are available, making cleanup easy after playing. Fees for city residents are 100 yen for adults, 60 yen for high school students, and 30 yen for children, double for non-residents (all per session), and admission is free with a disability certificate or similar. Thanks to the shift system, the open gaps between sessions pair perfectly with a stroll through town.

Tips

Since advance reservation is required, be sure to check the reservation method and the start date for accepting bookings on Fuchu City's official website. The facility is closed on July 24 (Fri), July 30 (Thu), August 5 (Wed), August 12 (Wed), August 18 (Tue), and August 24 (Mon). The water slide is out of service for fiscal year 2026 (Reiwa 8), so let children know in advance so they aren't expecting it. Closures may also occur due to weather. Coin lockers cost 10 yen per use, so it's handy to have 10-yen coins ready.
