About this spot

Located in Tomatsuri, Utsunomiya City, the Tomatsuri Shinsui Park Water Flow Facility is a free water play area where water flows only during summer. In the 2026 season, water flows from 10:00 to 16:00, from Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, August 30. The park has combination play equipment, swings, and a sandbox, so children can move at their own pace, playing on the equipment when they tire of the water, and back to the water when they tire of the equipment. The park's east side faces the Kamagawa River, giving it a pleasant, breezy waterside atmosphere. Since it's free to use, you can also drop by for just a short while in the evening.

Tips

The facility is scheduled to close for regular cleaning on July 30 and August 26; the water will not flow on those days, so plan around them. Bare feet are not allowed in the water, so bring water sandals that won't easily come off. Keep a close eye on young children on the side facing the river. The facility may also close suddenly due to weather or other conditions, so check the City of Utsunomiya's information page for the day's status before you leave.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is recommended, and you can play until closing at 16:00.
