About this spot

Located in western Utsunomiya, Kobushi Children's Park Water Flow Facility is a free water play spot where water flows only during summer. In the 2026 season, water flows from Saturday, July 18 through Sunday, August 30, between 10:00 and 16:00. The park also has combination play equipment and a sandbox, so kids can move between the water, the equipment, and back again at their own pace. It's a quiet park in a residential area, conveniently located for a stop on the way back from the Oya area. Admission is free, so it also works well for a short visit.

Tips

The facility is scheduled to close for regular cleaning on July 30 and August 27—no water will flow on those days, so plan your visit around them. Bare feet are not allowed in the water, so bring water sandals that won't easily come off. Playing in the sandbox tends to get sand everywhere, so bringing extra towels and a change of clothes makes the trip home easier. The facility can also close suddenly due to weather, so check the City of Utsunomiya's information page for the day's status before heading out.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 40 minutes. Afternoon is recommended once the sun softens, with play possible right up until closing at 16:00
