About this spot

The Tokamae Park Water Flow Facility, in the Shukugo area of Utsunomiya City, is a free water play spot close to the town center. In the 2026 season, it operates from July 18 (Sat) through August 30 (Sun), from 10:00 to 16:00. The grounds have combination play equipment and a pavilion (azumaya), so you can go back and forth between the water and the play equipment while resting in the shade. It's about a 17-minute walk from Higashi-Shukugo Stop on the Utsunomiya Light Rail, another advantage of this park, letting you arrive by train alone without a car. Admission is free, so it also works to stop by after sightseeing in the town center.

Tips

It is scheduled to close for regular cleaning on July 29 and August 27. No water will flow on these days, so plan your visit for another time. Bare feet are not allowed in the water, so bring water shoes or sandals that won't easily come off. There is little shade along the walk from the stop, so set out with a hat and something to drink. Closures can also happen suddenly due to weather, so check the City of Utsunomiya's information page for the day's status before you set out.

About 2 hours. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is recommended, and you can play until closing at 16:00
