About this spot

This is a green space of lawn and trees surrounding the Utsunomiya Museum of Art. Spread a sheet on the well-tended grass and it instantly becomes your picnic spot. There's plenty of shade, so even in summer the breeze makes it comfortable to be here. Walking around looking for the outdoor sculptures keeps kids entertained without getting bored. Rest well here to get ready for the afternoon's water play.

Tips

Don't count on a shop being available, it's best to bring your own lunch and drinks. The lawn can get muddy right after rain, so shoes that can get dirty are reassuring. As a rule you should take your trash home with you, so bring a bag.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Choose a spot in the shade and you can stay cool even during the day.
