About this spot

Located in Utsunomiya, the Yanashita Central Park Water Feature is a free spot for relaxed play in a residential neighborhood. For the 2026 season, it operates from Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, August 30, between 10:00 and 16:00. Next to it is a large lawn plaza, so you can get out of the water to rest on a picnic sheet and then head back in. There is a pavilion (azumaya), so finding shade is never a problem, and horizontal bars let kids move around and dry off. Since it's free to use, you can also just stop by briefly in the late afternoon.

Tips

It will be closed on July 31 and August 28 for regular cleaning, so the water won't be flowing those days-plan your visit around them. Bare feet are not allowed in the water, so bring water sandals that won't easily come off. The lawn plaza is mostly sunny, so claiming a spot under the pavilion or tree shade first will make breaks easier. Closures can also happen suddenly due to weather, so check the City of Utsunomiya's information page for the day's status before heading out.

About 2 hours 40 minutes. Afternoon is recommended as the sun softens, with play possible until closing at 16:00
