Located in western Kanazawa, this city library is known for its white walls dotted with countless round windows. Inside, a large atrium lets soft light stream in through the round windows, creating a pleasant space for reading. The children's book section has its own dedicated floor, so you don't need to worry too much if little ones make noise. Since the interior is air-conditioned, it's a great place to stay cool during the sun-drenched morning hours. The building itself is one of Kanazawa's landmarks, so it's worth a visit just to photograph the exterior.
Tips
Check the Kanazawa City Library official website for closing days and opening hours. Check the floor map near the entrance to find the children's book section without getting lost. Free parking is available, but the number of spaces is limited, so the lot may fill up during busy times. Eating and drinking are only allowed in designated areas, so it's best to have snacks outside the building beforehand.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Mornings before the sun gets strong are comfortable
