About this spot

This park sits on Mt. Utatsu, overlooking Kanazawa's downtown from the east, and has long been beloved by locals. From the observation deck you can take in the rows of tiled roofs and the mountains stretching out beyond them. Since the hilltop is accessible by car, it's an easy trip even with small children, and it's a perfect spot to enjoy the view in the crisp morning air. The park has plenty of tree cover, so you can choose shady paths even on sunny days. Try spotting the Motomachi neighborhood where you'll be playing later — it gets the kids excited for what's ahead.

Tips

It's just a few minutes by car from Motomachi No. 1 Children's Park. Since the park has uneven terrain, a baby carrier may be easier to move around with than a stroller in some sections. Check the signboard near the entrance for the location of vending machines and restrooms for peace of mind. The summer sun is strong during the day, so don't forget a hat and something to drink.
