About this spot

This observation tower is the symbol of Sagamihara Asamizo Park. Climb to the top for a sweeping view of Sagamihara's cityscape, and on clear days you can see all the way to the Tanzawa mountain range and even toward Mt. Fuji. It's also handy for getting an overhead sense of the layout, including the Water Plaza you're about to visit and the neighboring Kanagawa Prefectural Sagamihara Park. There's an elevator, so it's accessible even with small children. Take a breather in the breezy heights here as a break after the animal plaza.

Tips

Check the park's official website for opening hours and closure days. You may not be able to go up during strong winds. The observation room can get warm from sunlight, so bring a drink with you.

Best time to visit

About 35 minutes. In the clear air of the morning, you can see all the way to the distant mountains.
