This is the 'Uminonakamichi Seaside Park Splash Pool,' a free water-play area inside the state-run Uminonakamichi Seaside Park. It had been closed in 2026 as a drought countermeasure, but reopens on Saturday, July 25 and is open through Sunday, August 30 during the park's operating hours (9:30 AM to 5:30 PM). Its appeal lies in the shallow pool, which lets everyone from toddlers just learning to walk to elementary schoolers enjoy it together. Restrooms, accessible restrooms, a baby-care station, coin lockers, a first-aid facility, and an AED are all in place, so you won't have trouble handling changes of clothes or belongings. Water-play shorts are sold at the shop inside Wonder Shuttle, so you can buy some on site even if you forget yours. Shady pine groves typical of a seaside park are nearby, letting you go back and forth between playing and resting.

Tips

The park's 'Interactive Fountain,' located in the same park, is closed due to a malfunction in its main equipment, and there's no timeline for repair. Plan your water play around the Splash Pool alone. Use of the pool is free, but the park's separate admission fee (450 yen for adults, 210 yen for seniors, free for junior high school students and younger) applies. Storing your belongings in a coin locker lets you move around more freely. Since the park closes at 5:30 PM, plan for changing time and get out of the water shortly after 5 PM.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is recommended, giving you plenty of time to play before the 5:30 PM closing.
