Next stop: The village's hot spring facility. An early lunch at the dining cornerAbout this spot
This museum mainly displays Jomon-period ear ornaments unearthed from the Kayano Site in Shinto Village. The sight of countless clay ear ornaments lined up is unique, and once you notice that each pattern is different, it's hard to get tired of looking. The fact that people thousands of years ago wore ear accessories is an easy-to-grasp surprise even for children. There are also dogu (clay figurine) displays, and since the museum is compact, you can finish viewing before young children lose focus. Spending the morning indoors with air conditioning is also a welcome part of a summer plan.
Tips
Admission is 200 yen for adults and free for junior-high-school students and younger. Open from 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry 16:30), closed every Monday (or the following day if Monday is a holiday). Since the fountain at Shinsui Park, the star of this course, only runs on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, a Monday visit wouldn't work for this plan anyway. Parking is available.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. The morning right after opening is calm and good for viewing.
