About this spot

The wide lawn at Aguri no Oka is a perfect spot to spread out a picnic sheet and enjoy a bento. Being up on the hill, the breeze passes through easily, and if you choose a shady spot, it feels more comfortable than expected even in midsummer. Being able to lie down or run around a bit after eating is a kind of ease you don't get with table seating. Since the next stop, the Water Plaza splash pool, is just a short walk within the park, you can gather your things and stroll over at a relaxed pace. Eating well and resting before water play makes a real difference in stamina for the afternoon.

Tips

Food availability within the park varies by day and season, so bringing your own bento is the most reliable option. Shaded spots are limited, so a large parasol or pop-up tarp makes resting easier. Basically, take your trash home with you. Moving your water-play change of clothes somewhere easy to reach at this point will save you from scrambling once you arrive at the splash pool.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Shaded spots under trees fill up first during peak sunlight hours, so it's best to claim a spot early
