About this spot

This is a free-to-use children's pool at Maisaka Omotehama Park in Chuo Ward, Hamamatsu City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31, with two sessions: 9:30–12:00 and 13:00–16:00. It is for elementary-school-age children and younger, and a swim cap is required. Located on the east side of Lake Hamana's Imagiregutchi channel mouth and south of Maisaka Fishing Port, unlike ocean swimming it is shallow and wave-free, so even children unaccustomed to water can play safely. The park also has a children's plaza, play equipment, and a lawn, so the fun can continue after getting out of the water — a nice bonus. Since it's free, it's also fine to just drop by for a short while.

Tips

Be sure to bring a swim cap — you can't enter without one. The pool is closed for a break between 12:00 and 13:00, so entering a little after 13:00 for the afternoon session's opening makes for efficient play time. It is for elementary-school-age children and younger; toddlers must be accompanied by a guardian. The opening period and hours may change depending on weather and facility conditions, so check Hamamatsu City's official website for the latest information before visiting. Since it's near the sea and the sun is strong, be sure to hydrate frequently and take breaks in the shade.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 30 minutes. Entering in time for the 13:00 afternoon session lets you play plenty until it closes at 16:00
