Sanchobatake Park Mini Pool (三町畑公園ミニプール)

Flow of the course

About this spot

The outdoor 'Sanchobatake Park Mini Pool' is located inside Sanchobatake Park in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture. In 2026, it will be open from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31. This shallow pool is designed for children from toddlers to third-graders in elementary school, and its greatest appeal is that children who are still nervous about big pools can play safely while standing on their own feet. Unlike deeper pools crowded with older kids, here the children are all around the same age, so parents can watch over them with peace of mind. Since it's located in a corner of the park, after getting out of the water you can enjoy a snack on a shaded bench and then go back to play, a relaxed way to spend the day. Being able to visit again and again throughout summer vacation, almost like a neighborhood outing, is what makes this pool so appealing.

Tips

Closed every Friday (though open on July 24 and August 7). It's easy to mix up the days, so before you leave, be sure to check the Ichikawa City official website for opening days, hours, and fees. Since the target age range is toddlers through third grade, if you have an older sibling, note that some children may be able to play while others have to wait. It's also reassuring to check the rules in advance regarding whether children not yet toilet-trained can enter the water. Shade is limited, so prepare rash guards and sunscreen.

Best time to visit

About two and a half hours if entering at 1 PM. Wrapping up before evening is a good pace matched to little ones' stamina.
