A prefectural botanical garden built on the hilly terrain of Kawachinagano City, its highlights are flower beds that change with the seasons and a large greenhouse lush with tropical plants. The grounds are hilly but have well-maintained walking paths, and climbing the slopes leads to spots overlooking the valley. Children love the greenhouse's huge leaves and carnivorous plants, and there are plenty of displays that surprise the eye even without knowing their names. The garden is spacious, so it's best not to get too tired by narrowing down the areas you want to see.
Tips
The garden is closed on Mondays, so check the day of your visit. In summer, the greenhouse can get quite hot, so it's best not to linger too long and instead alternate with the shaded areas outdoors. It's about a 15-minute drive to Teragaike Park, making it a natural flow to spend a relaxed morning here before heading to Kanshin-ji Temple.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. The outdoor flower beds are comfortable to walk through in the morning.
