Katsuragi City Shinjo Sports Center Pool is a summer-only outdoor pool at Katsuragi City's Shinjo Sports Center. In 2026, it's open from July 18 to August 23. The 25m pool, 95-115cm deep, is just right for swim practice, and the slide's landing pool is a shallower 60cm, so even elementary school children can slide down safely. There's also a toddler pool that's 30cm deep, letting even children who have just gotten used to water go play on their own. Having three depth levels available means that even families bringing siblings of very different ages can each find their own way to enjoy it, which is one of the strengths of a municipal pool.

Tips

It's free for Katsuragi City residents. For visitors from outside the city, adults pay 200 yen in the morning session and 300 yen in the afternoon session, while children from age 5 through 6th grade pay 100 yen in the morning and 200 yen in the afternoon. The pool is closed every Tuesday and on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, so check the day of the week before planning your visit. The slide may have posted height or age guidelines, so check them when you arrive. It may be closed on some days depending on the weather.

Best time to visit

Entering for the afternoon session lets you enjoy the slide repeatedly until evening.
