Next stop: Walk the approach wrapped in large trees and pay your respectsAbout this spot
This large park spreads over a hill in Miyazaki City, with the 37-meter-tall Tower of Peace standing at its summit. Especially popular with children is the Haniwa Garden, where many haniwa clay figures with simple, endearing faces are lined up among the trees, a spot that's fun just for wandering and spotting them. In the morning, cool air pools under the trees' shade, making it an easy time to walk even in tropical Miyazaki. There's also a grassy plaza and playground equipment, so you can build in some movement before heading to the pool.
Tips
Early in the day the parking lot is uncrowded, making it easy to get around. The park has some hilly terrain, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Mosquitoes can appear, so insect repellent will make things more comfortable. It's about a 10-minute drive to Kirishima Children's Pool, making it an easy stop to time your day around.
