Otsukadai Children's Pool is a summer-only outdoor pool for children located in the Otsukadai area of Miyazaki City. In 2026 it is open from Thursday, July 23 through Monday, August 24, during the hours of 10:00 to 12:00 (closed on Wednesdays and from August 13 to 15). The pool measures 10m x 20m, with two depths, 30cm and 50cm. Since it doesn't even reach waist height, even small children who can't yet swim can walk and play in the water on their own feet. Admission is free, and it's a spot where local children gather on summer mornings. Since the opening hours are a short two hours, preparing in advance so you can start playing right away will help you make the most of your time.

Tips

The pool is open for only two hours, from 10 a.m. to noon, and is closed on Wednesdays and from August 13 to 15. Be sure to check the day of the week and date before heading out. Changing into your swimwear beforehand, or wearing it under your clothes, saves changing time on-site. Shade is limited, so don't forget a hat, rash guard, and frequent water breaks.
