Hida City Kawai Pool is an outdoor pool located in Tsunokawa, Kawai-cho, Hida City. In 2026, it's open on weekdays from July 21 (Tue) to August 25 (Tue), 13:00-16:00 (last admission 15:00). It has two areas, a 50m pool and a smaller pool with a slide, so both kids who want to swim and kids who want to play in the water can spend time in the same place. The fees are remarkably affordable: free for Hida City residents in junior high school or younger and 110 yen for high schoolers and up; even for visitors from outside the city, free for toddlers, 60 yen for elementary and junior high schoolers, and 110 yen for high schoolers and up. Set in a quiet environment surrounded by mountains, this pool's appeal is the relaxed, uncrowded time you can spend there. Since it's open on weekdays only, plan your visit around a weekday during summer vacation.

Tips

Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and August 13-14. If the sum of the air and water temperature is under 54°C or 65°C or above, the pool closes for the day, so check the opening status via Hida City's notice on the morning of your visit. Last admission is 15:00. Since the water tends to be cooler in this mountain valley, it's reassuring to bring extra layers and towels.

Best time to visit

Arriving at the 13:00 opening lets you enjoy a full three hours of play until closing at 16:00.
