A roadside station (michi-no-eki) along the national highway in Onan Town, with a direct-sales market and eatery offering the bounty of the Chugoku Mountains. Vegetables grown at high altitude and local processed goods rotate with the seasons, making it fun just to browse. The eatery serves set meals made with local ingredients. It's a convenient stop where you can have lunch before the pool and stock up on drinks and snacks all at once. There's an outdoor rest area where children can move around a bit too.

Tips

The eatery gets crowded around lunchtime, so visiting earlier, around 11am, helps cut down the wait. Hours and closed days can vary by season, so check the official information. It's about 15 minutes by car to the Youth Travel Village. Snacks are available poolside too, but it's reassuring to stock up on extra drinks here.
