Flow of the course

About this spot

An outdoor pool called Kashiwazaki City Minato Park Pool, located in Minato Park in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture. In 2026 it is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day from Friday, July 24 to Thursday, August 20, with no closing days during the period. There's a 25-meter pool and a children's pool, so kids who want to swim can use the 25-meter pool, while little ones getting used to the water can use the children's pool, each family member at their own pace. Located inside Minato Park facing the Sea of Japan, the pool's charm is the pleasant sea breeze that blows through as you get out of the water. Being open every day during the period makes it easy for families to plan, and you can even decide the day before based on the weather forecast. It's the hub of water play in Kashiwazaki, bustling with local children throughout summer break.

Tips

On July 26, the pool closes at 3 p.m. due to traffic restrictions for the Gion Kashiwazaki Festival Sea Fireworks Display. If visiting on that day, plan your timing early. Check the fee and same-day opening status in advance on Kashiwazaki City's official page. Swim caps are generally required at public pools. Since shade is limited, prepare a rash guard and sunscreen, and take breaks and hydrate frequently. On days with a strong sea breeze, your body can get cold after getting out, so it's reassuring to have something to throw on.

Best time to visit

Entering at 12:40 p.m. gives you a full 3 hours 20 minutes until closing. Around 3 p.m., when the sunlight softens, is the most comfortable time.
