Yabata Pool (谷端プール)

Flow of the course

About this spot

Yabata Pool is a summer-only outdoor pool located inside Minami-Yabata Park (南谷端公園) in Kita City. In 2026, due to equipment trouble, the opening was postponed from its original schedule, and it will now be open from Wednesday, July 29 to Monday, August 31. Because it's inside a park, there are trees around it, so it's nice to be able to rest in the shade after getting out of the water. As a facility run by the ward, admission is reasonably priced: 200 yen for adults (high-school age and up), 100 yen for children (junior-high age and under), and 100 yen for those aged 65 and over or with disabilities. With an atmosphere of a community-rooted water-play spot that nearby families visit casually, it's also well suited for a first experience at an outdoor pool.

Tips

In 2026, the opening has been postponed to start on July 29, so be sure to check the schedule before heading out. Check Kita City's official page for the latest information on opening hours and rules of use. Shaded space is limited, so be sure to bring a hat, a rash guard, and drink water frequently. It's reassuring to bring a few more changes of clothes and towels than the number of people in your group.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours 30 minutes needed. Entering in the early afternoon lets you enjoy a relaxed swim until closing time
