Maruyama Park Outdoor Pool (丸山公園屋外プール)

Flow of the course

About this spot

Maruyama Park Outdoor Pool is an outdoor pool located within Maruyama Park in Nikko City. In 2026, it's open from Saturday, July 18 to Wednesday, August 26, in two sessions: 10:00-12:00 in the morning and 13:00-15:30 in the afternoon (entry reception starts at 9:45). It's closed for a special holiday on August 8. The highlight is a slide pool measuring 6.5 meters high, 31 meters long, and 60 centimeters deep, quite a substantial facility for a municipal pool. Many children come specifically for this slide, riding it again and again without getting bored all day. There's also a main pool at 100 centimeters deep and a children's pool at 30 centimeters deep, so siblings of different ages can each play at their own pace. Admission is a one-day pass for 200 yen for Nikko residents, 400 yen for non-residents, and free for infants and toddlers. A resident-only seasonal pass is a bargain at 730 yen.

Tips

The morning session ends at 12:00, and the afternoon session starts at 13:00. It's recommended to have lunch in between and enter for the afternoon session. Check your schedule for the special holiday on August 8. Entry reception starts at 9:45. Being an outdoor pool, it may be closed due to thunder advisories or bad weather. The slide often has height or age guidelines, so it's a good idea to check with staff at entry to avoid disappointment. Shade is limited, so a leisure sheet and a hat are essential.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 30 minutes. Entering at 13:00 when the afternoon session begins lets you play right through until closing.
