About this spot

This large park in Oyama City spreads out along the banks of the Omoi River. Its open lawn area offers clear sightlines, making it reassuring to watch over children as they play. There are water-play zones and playground equipment, and in summer it bustles with children splashing about. Being along the river, there's a good breeze, and stepping into the shade of the trees noticeably drops how warm it feels. It makes a good warm-up before playing at the pool in the afternoon. That said, be sure to break up playtime so children don't overexert themselves.

Tips

Admission is free, and the park has a proper parking lot. If there's a water-play zone, it's reassuring to bring a change of clothes. Much of the park is in direct sun, so a hat and drinks are essential. Eating a light lunch at the park, or picking something up on the way to the pool, will give you more time in the afternoon.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Mornings, when the river breeze is flowing, are the most comfortable time to visit.
