The Sano City Athletic Park Pool is an outdoor pool open only in summer, located within the Sano City Athletic Park. In 2026, it operates from Tuesday, July 21 to Monday, August 31, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry 5:00 PM, last exit from the water 5:30 PM; closed August 3 for facility maintenance). There are three types of pools -- the lazy river, the kiddie pool, and the multipurpose pool -- so you can drift on a float, swim properly, or play in shallow water, whichever you like. With a rest area, food court, shop, coin lockers, and hot-water showers, you can spend the whole day without worrying about lunch or changing clothes. Admission is affordable for the facilities offered: 330 yen for ages 15 and up (excluding junior high school students), 110 yen for junior high school age and under (excluding under age 4), and free for under age 4.

Tips

Last entry is at 5:00 PM and last exit from the water is at 5:30 PM, so plan your time with a margin. The facility is closed on Monday, August 3 for maintenance. Lockers cost 100 yen per use, so it's smooth to have 100-yen coins ready. There is a food court and a shop, so you can have lunch on-site, but it's a good idea to check the rules on bringing in outside food beforehand to be sure.
