Kanucha Resort Beachside Pool is an outdoor pool within a vast resort facing Oura Bay on Nago City's east coast. As the name suggests, it sits right beside the beach, and its biggest appeal is being able to look out at the ocean in front of you while swimming in the pool. Since you can play without worrying about waves or currents, even small children who are still nervous about the sea can enjoy the ocean view while getting comfortable in the water. Day visitors can use it for a visitor fee even without staying overnight, and it's open long hours from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm from July 20 to August 31. It also stays open for a long stretch, from the start of the swimming season through October 31, so you can still swim at the end of summer.

Tips

The visitor fee is 1,800 yen for adults and 600 yen for children; hotel guests can use it for free. From July 20 to August 31, it's open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, but hours differ at other times of year, so check the official information before heading over. The resort grounds are large, so allow extra time for moving from the parking lot to the pool. Okinawa's UV rays are very strong, so using a rash guard together with sunscreen is a good idea for peace of mind.

Best time to visit

In the late afternoon, the sunlight softens and the ocean's color deepens, making for a pleasant time of day.
