Ogoto Rinsui Park Pool (雄琴臨水公園プール) is an outdoor pool in Otsu City, open in 2026 from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31. It's operated on a shift system, with sessions from 9am to noon and 1pm to 4pm, and a break from noon to 1pm. This course spends the morning visiting Hiyoshi Taisha (日吉大社) and Ukimido (浮御堂), then enters for the afternoon session starting at 1pm. The pool consists of a 25m pool and a toddler pool, so both kids who want to swim and those still getting used to the water each have a spot to enjoy. Being located on the shore of Lake Biwa, the breeze off the lake feels especially pleasant in the evening, making the moment you step out of the water even more refreshing. Admission is 490 yen for adults and 330 yen for children (junior-high age and under), people 65 and over, and people with disabilities.

Tips

Because of the shift system, arriving right at 1pm for the afternoon session gives you the most time to play. You can't enter between noon and 1pm, so get lunch out of the way beforehand. Swim caps may be required, so it's a good idea to bring one for each person. Summer weekends get crowded, so heading over ahead of the start time makes it easier to secure a spot.

Best time to visit

Arriving right at the 1pm start of the afternoon session gives you a full 3 hours of play until 4pm.
