Karahashi Park Pool (唐橋公園プール) is an outdoor pool inside Karahashi Park in Otsu City, open in 2026 from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31. It sits within the park that spreads beside the Seta River at the foot of Seta no Karahashi Bridge, and has both a 25-meter pool and a children's pool. Kids who want to swim can use the 25-meter pool, while little ones just starting out in the water can use the children's pool, letting everyone go at their own pace. Admission runs in two shifts, 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00, with a break from 12:00 to 13:00. Admission is 490 yen for adults and 330 yen for children (junior high school age and under), those 65 and over, and people with disabilities. Its riverside location means good airflow, so it stays comfortable even after you get out of the water.

Since admission runs in shifts, arriving right at the 13:00 start of the afternoon session makes it easier to secure a spot. Check Otsu City's official website for that day's opening dates and hours before heading out. A swim cap may be required, so it's best to bring one just in case. Make a habit of hydrating during the lifeguards' break periods. Shade is limited, so bringing a picnic sheet and sun shade makes for a more comfortable visit.
