The Suizenji Children's Park Kiddie Pool (水前寺児童公園 ちびっこプール), located in the children's park within Suizenji Ezuko Park (水前寺江津湖公園) in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, is open from Wednesday, July 22 to Sunday, August 30 in 2026. It's an outdoor pool for infants through early-elementary-age children, and admission is free. Because it uses 100% spring water, the water temperature runs low, and the instant chill you feel the moment you step in - even at the height of summer - is an experience unique to this spot. There are two types of slides, sized so even small children can ride them safely. The fact that Ezuko Lake's rich groundwater becomes the pool itself is a fun way to talk to kids about water.

Tips

The park is closed every Wednesday for facility inspection (except July 22 and August 12). Admission is free. Because the water comes straight from a spring, it's cold, and staying in too long will chill you. Plan to get out often and warm up in the sun. It's reassuring to bring something to wrap up in. Since the pool targets younger children, older kids may find it a bit tame.

Best time to visit

Two and a half hours from 14:00. Since the water is cold, be sure to take regular breaks.
