About this spot

Oshima Park Pool is an outdoor park pool in Tsuruga City's Oshima Park, open in 2026 from July 21 (Tue) to August 26 (Wed). Above all, its biggest draw is that admission is free, which is what makes this facility easy to drop by on a whim. The pool has two depths, 30cm and 60cm, so small children who can't swim yet can use the shallower side, while slightly more confident children can use the deeper side, letting you choose the spot that suits your child's stage. It's open in two sessions, 10:00-12:00 in the morning and 13:00-16:00 in the afternoon, and this course is built around the afternoon session. Located within a park close to the sea, the breeze that blows when you get out of the water feels pleasant.

Tips

It's open in two sessions, 10:00-12:00 in the morning and 13:00-16:00 in the afternoon. If you're using the afternoon session, head over in time for the 13:00 opening. It closes in case of bad weather, so check Tsuruga City's notice for the day's status before heading out. Admission is free. Assume there's no shop, so bring your own drinks and snacks. It's a good idea to check rules concerning small children, such as whether swim diapers are allowed, in advance so you're not caught off guard on-site.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours. Arriving in time for the afternoon session's opening lets you play straight through until closing.
