Itako City Kasumi Citizens' Pool (潮来市立かすみ市民プール)

Flow of the course

About this spot

Itako City Kasumi Citizens' Pool is an outdoor pool in Itako City, Ibaraki Prefecture, that operates only in summer. In 2026, it will be open from Tuesday, July 21 to Monday, August 31, and closed every Monday during that period. It consists of a 25-meter pool and a toddler pool equipped with a slide. Thanks to the toddler pool with its slide, even small children who can't swim yet have a play area of their own, which is a nice touch for families since each sibling can be satisfied. Set in the peaceful surroundings of the water town area, it's free of the crowds you'd find at a typical tourist facility, with a calm atmosphere where you can spend time at your own pace. Admission is 410 yen for adults living in the city and 520 yen for those from outside, 210 yen for elementary/school-age children living in the city and 260 yen for those from outside, and free for children under elementary school age.

Tips

The pool is closed every Monday during its operating period, so check the day of the week when planning your schedule. Fees are higher for visitors living outside the city. Opening hours can change from year to year, so it's a good idea to check in advance with Itako City's official information. Since it's an outdoor pool, it may close due to a thunderstorm advisory or bad weather. The slide often has height or age guidelines, so it's reassuring to check with staff when you enter. Shade is limited, so a picnic sheet and hat are essential.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours. The sunlight softens in the afternoon, making it comfortable to play until evening
