Chiyonosawa Park 1st Observation Deck (千代の沢園地第1展望台)
Flow of the course
About this spot
A park on the shore of Lake Tanzawa (丹沢湖), where the autumn leaves are typically at their best from mid to late November. The view from the 1st and 2nd observation decks has been selected as one of the '100 Views of Mt. Fuji in Kanto' - a popular photo spot where, in autumn, you can take in the mountains around the lake dyed in autumn colors, Lake Tanzawa, and Mt. Fuji beyond it, all in one view. From the parking lot to the observation decks, you climb a stepped pathway. The contrast between the blue of the lake surface and the reds and oranges of the autumn leaves is a reward unique to this season.
Season & hours
Name: 千代の沢園地
Date & time: Typically mid-November–late November
Venue: 山北町・千代の沢園地
Tips
The stepped pathway from the parking lot to the observation deck was temporarily closed due to the risk of falling trees, but reopened on February 13, 2025. Since there are stairs, a baby carrier is easier to move with than a stroller. The clearer the air, the more distinctly you can see Mt. Fuji.
Best time to visit
Afternoon light is when the lake and autumn leaves look best; for Mt. Fuji, aim for a clear, sunny day
