Standing at an elevation of 741m on the shore of Lake Ashi (芦ノ湖), this is the western terminal station of the Hakone Ropeway. The same building houses Togendai Port (桃源台港) for the Hakone Pirate Ship, along with a bus terminal, making it a hub for sightseeing in Hakone. The station has restaurants and shops, convenient for a meal before your walk or picking up drinks. Weekends during the autumn foliage season can get crowded, so arriving early in the morning is recommended.

Tips

The ropeway runs roughly every minute during operating hours. Combine it with the pirate ship to enjoy the autumn leaves from the lake as well. Check the day's operating status on Hakone Navi (箱根ナビ) or similar sources.
