About this spot

A free nature-education facility in Kojiri (湖尻) that clearly explains Hakone's plants, animals, and volcanic origins through models, panels, and specimens. Previewing with your kids what kinds of trees are changing color along the lakeshore you're about to walk makes the stroll much more enjoyable. Walking trails are also maintained in the surrounding area.

Tips

Open 9:00-17:00 (last admission 16:30). Closed Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a public holiday). Free parking is also available.
