About this spot

A prefectural botanical garden in Ofuna, Kamakura City, where maple and ginkgo trees typically turn color from November through early December. During the same period, the prefecture's largest chrysanthemum exhibition, the 《Kanagawa Prefecture Chrysanthemum Exhibition》, has been held (the 62nd edition in 2025 ran November 1-24; please check the official website for the 2026 schedule). Admission is 400 yen for adults (age 20-64, excluding students), 200 yen for students and those under 20, 150 yen for high school students and those 65 and older, and free for junior high school students and younger. Opening hours from November to February are 9:00-16:00.

Tips

Closed on the 2nd and 4th Mondays (or the following day if a holiday) and during the year-end/New Year period, December 29-January 3. It closes at 16:00 from November to February, so enter early in the afternoon. There's also a greenhouse, so it's enjoyable even on cold days.
