Kentoji Temple (見桃寺)
Flow of the course
About this spot
A Rinzai-sect temple said to stand on the former site of Minamoto no Yoritomo's villa, the Momo no Gosho (Peach Palace), cherished as a pilgrimage site for Torin Hotei-son, one of the Miura Seven Lucky Gods. In autumn, the maple trees on the temple grounds turn color, adding quiet beauty to a corner of the port town. The autumn foliage on the Miura Peninsula typically peaks from mid-November to mid-December, but the temple's specific viewing period has not been confirmed, so please check recent local information for the state of the leaves. Visits are by voluntary donation, and parking is available.
