Kaneda Hashiriyu Shrine (金田走湯神社)
Flow of the course
About this spot
The guardian shrine of the former village of Kaneda, said to enshrine a deity invited from Izu. Two towering ginkgo trees, one male and one female and several hundred years old, stand in the grounds, protected trees of Miura City selected among the '50 Notable Old and Famous Trees of Kamakura and the Miura Peninsula.' The golden foliage usually peaks from late November to early December. Looking up at the golden-hued trees and walking over the carpet of fallen yellow leaves lets you feel autumn's depth with your whole body. Visits are by voluntary donation.
